CAC has a strong tax and customs practice combining academic expertise in tax law with extensive experience in tax advisory, tax litigation and disputes with revenue and customs authorities. We advise and represent Turkish and international clients on complex tax and customs matters arising from their investments, transactions and business activities in Türkiye.

Our practice covers corporate taxation, Value Added Tax (VAT), Special Consumption Tax (SCT), customs duties and other direct and indirect taxes, as well as the tax implications of commercial transactions, corporate restructurings and investments. We also advise clients on tax planning and the structuring of transactions, taking into account both the applicable tax legislation and the broader public law framework governing relations between taxpayers and the administration.

Tax litigation is a core part of our practice. We represent clients in disputes arising from tax assessments, additional assessments, tax penalties, customs duties and other measures imposed by tax and customs authorities, and advise clients throughout tax audits, administrative applications and proceedings before the tax courts and higher administrative courts. Our experience includes representing multinational companies in significant tax disputes involving VAT, SCT, customs duties and sector-specific taxation.

Our lawyers have advised and represented multinational companies operating in banking, tobacco, consumer goods, cosmetics and other regulated industries in complex tax and customs matters. Our experience includes acting in a substantial portfolio of tax disputes for a major international company involving an aggregate amount of approximately USD 45 million.

CAC’s tax practice is supported by advanced academic expertise in tax law, including doctoral-level research and publications in the field. This combination of academic knowledge and practical experience enables us to approach tax matters not only from the perspective of compliance and litigation, but also through the fundamental principles of tax and public law.
