CAC has a strong energy and natural resources practice, advising investors, project companies and contractors throughout the lifecycle of their investments in Türkiye. Our experience covers mining, geothermal and renewable energy projects, with particular expertise in the regulatory, contractual and public law issues that arise in the development and operation of major projects.

We advise clients from the early stages of an investment, including project structuring, acquisitions, partnerships and contractual arrangements, through licensing, permitting, development and operation. Our work includes mining and energy licences, licence transfers, operating and royalty agreements, project and partnership agreements, land use and zoning matters, environmental and forestry permits, expropriation and other approvals required for the development of energy and natural resources projects.

Our team has particular experience in mining and natural resources law. We advise mining investors and operators on acquisitions and licence transfers, reserve development arrangements, mining operation agreements and other contractual structures, as well as on regulatory compliance and relations with public authorities. We also represent clients in disputes arising from licensing and permitting procedures, administrative sanctions, environmental impact assessment processes and other regulatory measures affecting mining operations.

Our energy practice encompasses renewable energy and geothermal projects, as well as major energy and infrastructure investments. We advise project companies and investors on regulatory and permitting matters, project agreements and relations with public authorities, and assist clients in addressing legal issues that arise during the development and operation of their projects.

Drawing on CAC’s public law and dispute resolution capabilities, we also represent energy and natural resources clients in administrative litigation, commercial disputes and arbitration. This integrated approach enables us to advise not only on the establishment and operation of an investment, but also on regulatory intervention, project disruption and disputes that may arise throughout its lifecycle.
